I live in Florissant, Colorado on the Historic Witcher ranch
with my two daughters Mollie 11 yrs and Charlotte 8 yrs old.
I work as the ranch manager on the Witcher ranch up at 8,900 feet about an hour west of Colorado Springs. I cowboyed for this ranch during my summer off from college and then after graduation worked full time until I moved to California. While there I found time to volunteer as a mounted wilderness ranger for the U.S. Forest Service and I also packed out of Kennedy Meadows pack station on the east side of the Sierras. All the while making a living as a Ski Patrolman/ Carpenter.
I really connected with the vaquero style horsemanship and training techniques while living in California. I tried to learn as much as possible from books, videos and fortunately from some local buckaroos and trainers keeping this history alive. For their willingness to share their knowledge, I will always be grateful.
